Megasquirt help in the North West.
Discussion
Ok i'm really at the end of my rope with this thing.
Is there anyone in the North West with megasquirt experiance who can help me get this thing running cos its doing my head in now.
It's in and all wired up etc but I'm damned if I can get it to detect that the engine is cranking.
Help......
I'll even pay british pounds

try joining www.locostbuilders.co.uk there are a couple on there that know a fair bit
I think you should ask on the MS forums ..
They seem very helpful

Pounds - sure that will be £20

what engine is it ????? and the model of your ms ECU buddy.
do you have a o'scope ?? and know how to use it ?
Its a errr....MS-Extra on a Rover V8 with Ford coil packs, Jenvey Throttle Bodies, a wide band lambda sensor and a Trigger wheel setup from triggerwheels.co.ukdo you have a o'scope ?? and know how to use it ?
All the other sensors are reading within acceptible parameters.
I've checked the live stays live while cranking.
I've had an occiloscope on the wires from the crank sensor and it is giving the correct waveform but at about 2v peak to peak.
The ecu never recognises it's cranking or that the rpm is anything other than zero.
The gap between the sensor and wheel is currently set to the thickness of a piece of A4.

Is it a V3 board, have you tried adjusting the two pots on the main board?
Ahhh...good one....I adjusted the pots when the trigger wheel was in a different place. But I think it was to close to the pully damper then.
I moved the trigger wheel and adjusted the sensor but I havent tried adjusting the pots since I moved the wheel.....
Good Call.
