I'm fed up with the cerb getting damp/wet and need a good reliable outdoor fitted car cover - can't afford a garage at the moment, due to new baby, so needs to be long lasting also.

Any recommendations.

All info appreciated.

I guess as ever, it may depend how much you want to pay. I've got 3 TVRs and usually 2 are in a garage. However, sometimes I can't do that so I bought a couple of covers from Argos for about £30. They work fine, the inside is fairly soft (I'd prefer the soft stuff to be thicker though in case of rubbing). I suppose it may also depend how often you are going to take it on/off etc as well. Hello,

Are them £30 covers any good then?

Anyone got one of them silver ones for about £70 on Ebay??

I have been talking to a company today and they want between £260 and £360 depending on spec for a fitted breathable outdoor cover. They are real top quality items, I have two of their indoor ones already, but at a cost.

Cheers

Dave...

one problem though -the Cerb is quite a bit longer than the other models mentioned, make sure you go for the one specifically for the Cerbera ONLY (which is what I have from that company). Dont take one thats not .

Covercraft list the Cerbera under their C Category, so will be long enough.

I will contact Cover-Zone today for info on their more water proof covers. The one in the ebay link is just water resistant by the way. Cheers tho!

I've got a Moltex cover from Hamilton Classic - been using it on my Chimaera for the last year or so and been very pleased with it. They are not car-specific (various sizes to fit different dimensions of car) but the fit is quite good. By my reckoning the Cerb needs size "B" - Cost around £110 delivered.

Neal, do you find it to be good in heavy rain like we have been getting lately? My car has to live outside and so I am looking for good water protection more than naything.

Cheers for the link, I will get my photie took at the same time! wink

Had a Specialised Car Covers one http://www.carcoversuk.com/specialised-carcovers.htm . Excellent. Fitted like a glove. Breathable so could put on when car was wet and it would dry out. Kept the Cerb nicely warm, dry and clean without getting the duck pond in the passenger footwell.

I was after rain protection too, my Chim also lives outside. It seems to be very good in heavy rain, yes - no water or condensation in the car at all - you can put in on the car when the car is wet too, and it does the job.

Done some ringing about and net searches to come up with this list for Cerbs...

http://www.carcoversuk.com/index.php?page=outdoor
£210 3 layer breathable, waterproof.

http://www.cover-zone.co.uk/monsoon_car_covers.htm
£136 Vented non breathable, waterproof
£158 4 layer breatheable, 95%

http://www.covercraft-europe.com/homepage_car.html
£360 1 layer breathable, 95%
£260 3 layer breathable, 90%

http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/ProductInformatio...
£120, 4 layer breathable, 99%

http://www.londoncovers.com/car-cover-outdoor.asp
£245, 3 layer breathable, ?

http://www.airflow-uk.com/shop_car-covers_waterpro...
£90, 3 layer breathable, waterproof

From the above findings I reckon the Airflow one has got to be worth a try at least, or Hamilton for the extra layer bump protection for an extra £30.

Time to get the credit card out I reckon.

Cheers
Dave...

Good list - sure that'll be useful for people on here smile

The airflow cover looks v. similar to the Hamilton classic one - Not sure what the fixing mechanism is though - the Hamilton's one has two long straps on one side, that you chuck under the car, clip to matching clips on the other side, then tighten up. Works well and keeps the cover in place when it's windy.

Be very careful if it rains too much as the cover can cause the paint to develop blisters / bubbles. They will go down if you remove the cover.
