Xbox 360 Elite

Any current owners going to have one ? I nearly paid my deposit at the weekend, then thought about my current saved games- how could I get the saves onto the new HD, any ideas ?

You can get hold of a cable (comes with the hard drive when you buy it seperately) which transfers all your saves and so-on onto the new hard drive, should be able to find the cable on ebay easily enough.

I think some of the game stores are offering a transfer service, otherwise MS wil give you a free cable to transfer.

Do you know where to get one from? I'm gonna get mine from asda and I know they don't provide the service.

A person at BB reckoned it could all be done 'online' - so that you could upload your saves and download them on the new HDD - not sure if its true or not though.

They did offer a decent upgrade deal, just dont know if i'd use the additional features?

You can't do it online, you need the transfer cable.

One thing it keep in mind is whether or not you have more than one account on the machine, and if you download a lot of XBLA games. if you do, only the account that actually downloaded the games will be able to use them on the new 360, as opposed to all of them.

i thought the new Elite was supposed to have a HDDVD drive built into it. Here i am trying to find out why the new HDDVD that i bought isn't working, only to find that there isn't a HDDVD Drive built in. Feck! wasted £20 there then.

Where did you get that impression? The Elite just has a play and charge kit, a bigger HD and HDMI.

Its not even got a play and charge. The only difference from premium is: HDMI connector and a different audio connector, a 120gb Hard Drive, controller, headset and console all in black.
There is apparantly a new heat sync but its no quieter.

My premium developed a fault (ahem) so I swapped it for an elite and paid the difference (£20). And to be honest theres nothing different. I dont even think the matt black looks as clean as the white.
You don't even get a data cable to transfer the stuff over I've had to send off for one.
No play and charge, no HD DVD and no quieter. Boooo

Huh. Here in the US we got the play and charge kit for free. Still, for me it was worth it to get the HDMI and bigger HD.
