Help please....HOLDEN Tuning/ Astra G Coupe
Discussion
Hi Guys
I need a bit of help to clear something up.
Bascially a local guy has got a Vx Astra G 2.2 Bertone Coupe which he is swears is an import and is Holden Tuned. Not only that, he seems to think its an 'Astra VXR Killer'
Now what i want to know is.....Is there such a thing as an Astra coupe thats an import and RHD and Did HOLDEN do any sort of tuning?
Your help would be very much appreciated

Oh purlease.
I had a 'chipped' Astra Coupe Turbo. The 2.2 was a bit slow. As far as I am aware even if Holden did tune it, it would be slower than the Turbo version.
I would say that if Holden had tuned it then it would have either a 5.7 or 6ltr block.
Someone knowledgable will off course come along and prove me wrong!

Australia did import the Astra G, not sure if it was badged Holden or not but would have been RHD.
As for tuning to be a "VXR Killer", well the 2.2 was never the most tunable engine and to increase it to 250+bhp would be nigh on impossible without some sort of FI. You only have to look at the VX220 to see the difference between these two engines, the 2.0 Turbo is by far more powerful than the original 2.2

Every Astra that Holden sell, whether its a sedan, coupe, convertible or wagon is imported, and the only input Holden has on any of them is the badge. No tuning whatsoever.
Surprises me that some people still think that all Holdens sold here, are built here.
Only vehicle they build here is the Commodore, everything else beit Astra, Viva, Barina, Epica, Captiva, Rodeo etc is imported from either Europe, Korea or Thailand.

Its the Tuning bit that i 100% want cleared up as this guy keeps claiming his car is 'Holden Tuned' and keeps stating its a 'VXR Killer' Even though i have anialated him 3 times when my VXR was standard (on private track of course)

The Astra VXR is turbo and stock 250 fw BHP iirc, the 2.2 is no match what so ever. I had the Coupe Turbo edition myself, 190 fw bhp remapped with hybrid turbo pushing out 280+ fw bhpI had a 'chipped' Astra Coupe Turbo. The 2.2 was a bit slow.
