Discussion
Don't want you guys to think I've gone all female (apologies for the generalisation) wanting to discuss boots but... Anybody able to recommend a reasonable priced pair (for riding!)? My 1999 Alpinestars boots need replacing. I don't ride in the wet by the way...
Thanks geezers/esses... Rob.

Lost my Pumas(long story, doesnt reflect at all well, so not telling it) winced at the thought of spending the same again on another pair, so bought a pair of Sidi Vertigos. V comfy, well ventilated, but feels like a pair of slippers protection wise.
Ended up phoning Raceways and getting a good "stupid idiot" discount on another set of the Pumas. Incredibly comfy, feel like nothing on earth would hurt in an off.
Has SMX+ before, and stood up well to a tarmac adventure.

Hi Rob,
I can recommend Sidis - mine seem to have lasted far better than my previous Alpinestars. Though check out the range of BMW boots to see if there's a pair you like; BMW boot quality is absolutely top notch. My winter boots are BMW; they still look and feel great after tremendous winter abuse.
Cheers

I know lots of people don't, but it still seems a shame to read it here. How come you don't?Cheers

Alpinestars Supertechs if you're rich and want what Stoner, Hayden, Pedrosa and Hopkins use.
Alpinestars SMX+ if you want some really comfy, well-built, indestructible but quite squeaky ones.

These guys are paid to wear this stuff. If you look at the guys who are not paid to wear Alpinestars, Dainese etc., the boots they use are Daytona Security Evo's, and Bradley Smith in 125 GP Repsol team uses these Daytona's in Repsol colours.Alpinestars SMX+ if you want some really comfy, well-built, indestructible but quite squeaky ones.

Daytona EVO Sports with an inner shell - buy online from Germany.
Steve.
What this man has said and you can get them from these German websites: http://www.motshop.de/ or http://www.fc-moto.de/ and remember the word Stiefel is german for boots, but the websites do have english translations. If it helps I have bought Daytona boots from www.fc-moto.de and they took a week to get to me with no problems whatsoever. The Euro price you see on their web site is less than the sterling price on here http://www.hideout-leather.co.uk/folders/road_race...Steve.
They really are very good boots and I would not wear anything else. I have the Daytona Evo Sport GTX with Goretex which have a hard inner boot and I use everyday and for track I have the Daytona Security Evo's with the aramid hard inner shell.

Really like the Daytona boots but sometimes I'm a size 11 and other times I'm a 10 - do they take returns if I order both sizes?
Thanks for all the info.
I'm not sure if fc-moto do returns, they may, but the best advice is if you can try a pair of Daytonas on at your nearest Daytona stockist in the UK and then order from fc-moto, that's exactly what I did and saved myself about £140, which I used to buy a new pair of gloves. Thanks for all the info.
Remember Daytonas are made in Germany so the sizing wont differ regardless of where you buy them.

Thought I'd post a quick update - boots are great, really good value and look smart as well. The service was also really good - I ordered two sizes and sent the other size back. They issued a refund straight away and emailed me to confirm.
All in all, saved money, great product, great customer service - highly recommended.
