Took my Chim down for her first MoT in a 18months (i've been restoring her) and the headlight's dipped beam won't come on. The high beams work on flashing, but not in the normal high beam stalk position. The side lights work fine.

When I got her the relay was missing in the dipped beam relay position and a jumper wire was bridging the dipped beam fuse and one of the relay connections.

Any help welcome. Either respond or PM me your number and I can call you.

Cheers,

martin

Right, been down to the garage and removed the relay that had replaced the jump wire. Put a jump wire back bridging the dip beam fuse and one of the relay terminals and hey presto, we had dipped beams! Either the fuse panel is wired wrongly or the relay was the wrong one. (but it did click when installed in the pannel!?) Strange! Anyone know what relay should be used for the dipped beam?? Cheers, Martin

Only ever seen th std relays used with switch opposite (and parallel) and power opposite (and perpendicular to each other).. You might have a had a relay with diode and the live/negative are the wrong way round.
