cheers ant this is the problem then maybe someone can help i drove it in to my garage as per usual but when i came back a week later it wouldnt go so i left it a few days thinking i had flooded her i cranked it over it fired once then nothing so ive taken a plug out and theres no spark so i called an auto electrician who bypast the alarm still nothing then he confirmed no spark and no injector pulse which he said it might be the crank sensor so i left it with me trying to find one for friday as i have it booked in.
right just talked to the auto electrician who himself informed me they dont have a crank sensor as hes just looked at a diagram he now thinks it could be the ignition module located on the side of the dizzy any thoughts!

Seems the most likely suspect to me, but I'd be concerned about having somebody trying to trouble shoot a car who knew so little about it that they didn't understand the basic setup.

I reckon either a low battery or the relays in the ecu loom.

If he says no spark, then maybe battery more so.

Give it a charge and then try it...

What if the car has been modified to run an after market ECU and does have a crank sensor ? If so you should be able to see it perhaps looking at a wheel on the crank pulley.

Dont think any of the LR ones fitted there - they were all on the rear & AFIK only on automatics...

i fitted a new ignition module today and still no change the battery is new and fully charged ive read somewhere that a faulty rev counter can throw up these problems or have i just made that up i think the relays are my next port of call

Either investigate it methodically, or get somebody competent to have a look at it for you. To be honest you're wasting your time and potentially going to make things worse if you just start fiddling with it. It's a very basic system and any competent sparky should have no trouble tracking it down.
