Been toying with getting the thing to go a little faster, especially after trips to the Ring.

So far I've a list of 3 things to do. Would appreciate any experience of any of these.

1) Better brakes - ceramics?

2) Better suspension - Ohlins transformed my Griff.

3) Upping the diff. No need to ever go above 150

Red rose upgrade, fluid, hoses and F4 pads will help the brakes. Standard brakes will not cope on track when you're trying.

CR Box and Short Diff is an excellent upgrade.

Cheers,

What are the main impacts (good and bad) to the CR box and short diff together?

Slightly higher fuel consumption and more engine noise at cruise altitude is the only bad thing I can think of.

CR box and a Diff (I would recomend a 3,91:1 ratio).

Downside, slightly taller first than normal, but you get used to it. You will feel like you cant change gear fast enough!!

Plus side - phenominal performance upgrade for the money. You will feel like your car has gained a huge power increase from somewhere. Punch from 2nd /3rd and 3rd /4th is very hard to match with cars costing twice the prioce and more.

Do the diff changes require any speedo mods or is the pickup on a drive shaft?

The Sag has now got a de-tuned 3,6 unit in, a 4 speed gearbox and 3.3:1 diff. hehehehehehe

Whoops, getting carried away, thought I was justifying what Class I should be in next years Tuscan Challenge.

Yes Chris it is as you suggest...

when my car (T350t) is returned in a couple of weeks (hopefully). non standard parts it will have are: a 2007 4 litre red rose spec engine with de-cats and sports pipes, sp12 lightweight wheels, 's' spec front discs, nitrons, polly bushes all round, carbon fibre airbox and cam cover insert and magnecor leads.

it already was surprisingly light when it was standard with a weighbridge figure of 1100kg (with fluids and half tank of fuel but i have no aircon or fancy extras)

other things i may do is a re-map at some point, the cr box, shorter diff ratio and have the upright part of the seats modified/retrimmed to give better sidewards support.

maybe some sort of carbon or sag style splitter would be nice to finish off the front end and an extra 'air scoop' put in under the radiator to increase the airflow through it as im not convinced with the side scoops efficiency.

i could be anal and go on all day about little bits here and there i'd like to try but i wont bore you biggrin
