In autocar, p.18. Looks like a modernised Griffith, but the interesting part is the engine - maybe this could be the rebirth of the AJP8 in 32v form?

Is being discussedon the Gen' TVR Forum: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I think it's still a 2V head in the 4.7. 'Called the Melling Griffon, it is similar in size to the Griffith and is powered by a further-developed, 460bhp 4.7-litre version of Melling's AJP8, the flat-crank, two-valve V8 he designed in the early 1990s. Taken from the Autocar.

Good news though. biggrin

I hope these cars go into production, I see this as potentially the next faze of TVR. The Russian might have the name but thats all!

I'll put this car in Melling's "hellcat" file.

Along with my plan to strap bungees together, and propel myself to Mars.

Indeed, lets see one driveable car first. The Hellcat in the Vid doesn't really count as all publicity shots since of the car have not had brake calipers.....

There's little space for a one man band developing production engines these days.

How the hell did he get a redesigned Griffith to weigh more than two tons!?!

480 bhp sounds great; but only 218 bhp per ton...........

I'll wait until I see one. There's a hint of photoshop an existing Griff about it.

But the engine - now that could prove interesting

It'll be in lbs.

Works out at 1097Kg = 419 /ton if you use a more realistic 460hp rather than a VERY optimistic 480.
