Best option for converting USD cheques

Help,

Decided to sell some stock and don't know best option. Not in urgent need for the money so have thought of dollar account but 18month FX rates look set (1.94 potential late next year). Problem is do I just convert to Stirling and be screwed on the bank rates or do something else?
