E36 328i SC Buying Advice

Hi,

Ive attempted to join the E36coupe.com forum but my registration email has still not come thorugh, so im hoping someone here can help me.

Next year i'm planning on buying an E36 328i Sport Coupe with all the M-tec bits.

Now ive done a bit of homework on them, and want to know how much decent examples are fetching these days - ive looked at the classified ads on here but prices seem to vary alot. Would £5K get me a decent/mint enthusiast owned example?

Im after a lowish millage example (70K-100K), black half or full leather with all the optional extras, bodycolour blue, black or silver. I know the spec changed slightly in 96 or 98 (not too sure) where they got rid of the LSD and replaced it with traction control. Did the LSD ones have traction control too, or was it either or?

Any common problems to note with these cars? Im aware of the liner issue - will this show up on BMW service history?

Does anyone have any links to the original brochures for these cars, or spec lists (what options were available) and how the specs changed in 98?

So not the Nikasil blocks used up to March '98, quietly replaced by BMW with Alusil blocks thereafter then?
