Adding K&N to my 330i Sport

Hey folks,
Im thinking about adding an K&N air filter/induction kit to my 2004 330i sport.

Has anyone got any experience of how this turns out once fitted? is it worth it?

I'm taking the cautious side as i dont want to ruin my BMW in any way.

I fitted a K & N panel filter last month, can't notice any difference in performance. I think there is more of an induction sound with the windows down (this is probably a little subjective though) Only went for it as it needed changing and was only £15 more than a regular filter.

The important thing with any induction kit is to make sure you have shielded the filter from the hot air under the bonnet to avoid heat soak. This is why many people just recommend a panel filter. Suck it and see, won't do any harm to try a replacement panel filter but doubt you will notice any benefits to be honest.

Don't waste your time with a crap K&N filter. Get one of these imported from the states. I did, although it's hard to detect extra power throttle response is def improved.
