Quite a few people have put the K-Series into a Mini.

Not sure if there are off the shelf subframes for it though like there are with the Redtop and the Integra lump.

Welcome Rob.

I believe it is possible.

You may be unaware that there is a a forum on here for classic mini owners.

You may get more advice there.

Yes, the K series will fit (easier in a clubman), but also bear in mind the Honda Vtec too... biggrin

I saw a k-series engined mini at a Goodwood Breakfast Club. It was a tight fit but it did work.

yeah ive just had a rough quote, of the guy at pilling who has done a bit of work on the mini, he roughly said £4000 - 5000, to do, including parts labor etc. bit steep i thought!

a honda H22a out of a 92-96 prelude would be an awesome lump to put in there.

2.2 litres, nice amount of torque, 8000 rpm and 200bhp.

If going through the hassle of changing to a different engine then you might as well go for something like a VTEC and the costs are similar and you will get much more power, the other option is an MG metro engine which will drop straight in and shouldn't cost more than a few hundred pounds labour plus £150 for a good engine, will double the power of a 998cc. If you do it yourself it'll be even cheaper.
