...over egg the pudding somewhat!

I mean the car is good looking enough without using every PS add-on effect Shirley? Check out the image gallery.

There's a thread on GG which led me to this link:

http://www.astonmartin.com/astonmartindbs/html/ind...

(the movie is worth a watch - filmed near here of course wink )

Yes, No, err, not sure. To be honest for me it's such a great shape I don't mind the PS mucking about, apart from the lightning one which is cack.

Way way out of my league I just hope it's as good as I want to believe it is. In a Derestrictor style I'm imagining coming off the Eurostar train and flooring it to Monte Carlo in a day. I'd imagine hunting down slower traffic on the autoroutes and the waves parting just to let you by. Maybe it's the pills but I'm even thinking of a cheery wave from French Plod. I want a distinct lack of silencing in those V12 pipes, pops and crackles on the overrun, an engine with massive grunt but which loves revs, brakes with great feel and stopping power, a bespoke interior with seats that grip in corners but which take the bite of the imperfections in the road. Please Aston make it so.

Ah yes we did those roads when we did the Scottish hoon last year (early). Great fun that was biggrin

I think the photoshop work is a little OTT, as it almost suggests the car is not real - when in fact it is absolutely stunning (saw the prototype at the motorshow last year; one of the sexiest cars I've seen in a long time).

Or, if Aston Martin had used that shot:

(With apologies to Graham)

With the DBS, Aston just seem to be trying that tiny bit *too* hard with everything they do. The body kit, the interior, the photos. Even the ignition key.

Correct - they should return to making cars like these:

(first outing with my Canon 1D mkIII 17-40mm f/4.0 L taken on Highway 101 northern California).

Where abouts are those roads in Scotland, I'm looking at planning a trip to Scotland before the end of the year and would love to get some roads like that in.

IMHO: This is the best route in the UK : Chrianlarich, Rannoch Moor, Fort William, Invergarry, Shiel Bridge, Lochcarron, Applecross, Shieldaig, Kinlochewe, Gairloch, Poolewe, Ullapool, Ledmore, Kylesku, Durness.... then back whichever way you fancy. The roads on the vid are between Kinlochewe and Durness.

I have a map with most of that journey here: www.stevecarter.com/bestuk.htm

Thanks for that, just the 500 miles from me, it could still be a goer next spring though...
