LM seems to bring out the desire in us to drive down in the maddest cars possible. So what's the most bonkers cars you have seen down there ?

Here's a starter for ten - met a guy with an UVA - Rover V8 slung out the back and great big jerry cans over the front wheels to add ballast to stop the car doing wheelies under heavy acceleration !

A couple of memories seem to stand out here:-

Two Ultimas bellowing past me as I was refuelling the Griff beside a dual carriageway. There were a few of us in TVRs at the filling station and I think we all went "Wow!" in unison.

A convoy of three Vipers - the hard tops with that great blue with twin, white racing stripes paint jobs - somewhere on the A16A28 last year.

Well we got passed by a convoy of RX7's which weren;t hanging about - they were pretty mad.

But the guy that gets my utmost respect, was the dude who was driving a 1930's Bentley! What a top bloke!

Also on the way back we got chatting to an owner of an e-type jag. Was one of only 4 specials that were built for racing, i think it was a mark three model. One was totalled on a circuit and this was one of the three remaining. Sort of primrose yellow colour, 6 weber carbs on the V12. A noise that you would drop your pants for and it did 90mph in second gear!!

in '99 (I think) we saw a Pink skoda with the roof chopped off flying a huge union jack as they drove down the road between masion Blanche and Camping Blue.

Now that takes some real bravery!

Of course we're all forgetting the annual spectacle of the Jaguar/Silk Cut liveried Volvo and Cortina that cruise around the place. Class!

Tank range is about 150 miles. Trip both ways equates to about 800 miles. So about 5.3 fill-ups!!!

Will be taking 40 litres in the support van just in case

Blue - tested on the way back from the factory open day. One tank full to empty - 75 miles.

That makes 150 in my book

As for the Harley lookalike - the only thing I've heard of (if you're not talking out of your botty ) that's like that is called a Boss Hoss. It's got a car tyre at the rear and handles like poo.

Rather him than me if he's going to Le Mans in it!

It is a boss hoss and only goes in a straight line. He is the third owner in 7 years with only 800 miles on the clock. Last two owners were to afraid to use it!

Still an amazing piece of kit when you see it and and sounds amazing.
