Can any police officer or DVLA staff help me (anonymously of course) track down the keeper of a vehicle. I have the reg. number and I know it has been issued to a vehicle. I just need the name & address of the keeper. Nothing sinister- I want to write to the guy and make a cash offer to the vehicle keeper for the plate. There is a round of drinks in it for anyone who helps. Please email me privately on johnnystealth@hotmail.com

Cheers

Is this the same one you were trying to find in May?

Surely anyone with DVLA access would be mad answering this - how do we know what Mr Stealth (a nice and honest guy I'm sure) is really going to do with the info?

Yes its the same one. I didnt bother going to the DVLA with the FOI act because I didnt think think, helpful darlings that they are, would think "I want to offer cash for the plate" would be classed as reasonable cause and it would be a waste of 30 quid. But hey, thought i'd give this one a bash. I know it wd be a 30 second job for someone with access.

It costs something like the princely sum of £2.50 to get the RK's address if you can give a vaild reason (He's parking on my property..etc...smile) I think....

They dont. But I couldnt think of anything horrendous I could do with the info? Just thought someone might give me a hand, and the owner may well be happy to find I want a plate they got for free when the bought a car and could get some money for. No worries of no one wants to smile

As suggested in other posts, you should go to the DVLA, or POST IT HERE incase it's recognised. No Bib in their right mind is likely to ever do a PNC check on the side, i'm pretty sure it's a serious offence to abuse the system like this.
