Anyone on here running their Cerb on these? I've just ordered a set to fit on the Spiders, just wondering if anyone had done so already??
I do. i run mine on spiders. You cant get the proper size for the fronts, so you have to go 225/40/18. There is no kerb lip on the tyres, so keep well away from the kerbs! To say they are awesome in grip is a total understatement. I ran them for the trackday at Rockingham, and round the high speed corners, cars in front of me were twitching all the place whilst I was on rails waiting for them to get out of the way!(hello keithyboy)
As for wear, dunno yet, only run a few hundrd miles on them, and I have never yet run them in the wet at all. I also noticed quite a difference in the steering. The wheel feels decidedely heavier, and "chewier'. The car tends not to self correct properly as well, the wheel just sticks where you left it.
I get rubbing on the drivers side arch, but then again, I got rubbing from the so2 bridgestones I just took off.
Lastly... they look the dogs danglies! - enjoy!

I have heard that grip is around 3/4 the way toward full slicks from fast road tyres, and they do look the nuts.
A set retails at around £750 and I am expecting them to wear out pretty quickly, but then again I don't plan on doing too many winter miles.

. . . and I thought it was because you were a better driver than me
btw - were you running uprated shocks too? I certainly thought the track didn't have a lot of grip- others said the same too. Coincidently I have just invested in another set of spiders (thanks fubar
) so will also be looking for some trackday stickies for them - 888s do seem the way to go.

. Out of interest the 17" Cerb sizes are not available on the Monster site, is that there is no demand, or are they getting harder to get hold of
, although they are top dollar now compared to say a year ago
.Whilst on sticky tyres, anyone tried or heard first hand of the Federal 595-RS's they seem to be priced where the R888's were and as a semi slick with a 140 wear rating they 'should' be much gripier than normal road tyres for not a lot more money.

I've just ordered some Toyo T 1R's from here http://www.camskill.co.uk/index for a lot less than anywhere and believe me I've shopped around cos no-one has any in stock.
If they do the R888's at a similar discount you could save a packet!
