As above, if McL win the manuf title this year, will Ron Dennis go out in a blaze of glory?

No chance, he'll do a 'Bernie' or a 'Frank' and hang on until the end. He owns too much of a stake in Maclaren to let go easily.

I daresay it is much less of an economic commitment than it is an emotional commitment.

A guy that has been racing all his life will not be able to just retire. He is passionate about Mclaren, its not just a business to him. I very much doubt he's going anywhere!

Agree.

Don't forget that Ron and Frank (Williams) are racer at heart - thats where they started.

So is/did Bernie, and I'd guess thats why he's still around F1.

Did I miss something? Was there talk of this?

I could see him staying there until his last breath!

He has stated that he is planing on retiring soon and his wife has been at most of the races this year. I have a feeling that if Hamilton wins the driver's championship this year, RD may not "retire", but we may see him appear at far fewer races next year. The only thing that might change this is the fallout from Coughlan.
