Has anyone fitted 19" rims (without changing hubs)to a Chimaera and if so what tyre size did you use. I think the car would suit bigger rims and a fatter rear tyre!

19 inches?!! Too big and would look too max -power IMO but whatever turns you on ...

19 inches ...

It *is* possible to have wheels that just look too damn big for the car - I saw a tw@t with some HUGE wheels on his Saxo VTR thingy the other night - I had to laugh. He also had those clear rear lenses which on a red car do look sh1te IMO, about as bad as they do on those gold-coloured BMW 3-series Coupes I've aso seen 'em on,

I'm not sure 19" rims would fit in the wheel arches. The standard at the front is 15".

Mind you, those 1" profile solid rubber tyres are supposed to be good for track days

There was a cerbera at the mid-essex meet that had 19's, the rear tyres were 245/35 from memory, the fronts I can't remember but they were rubbing on the rear part of the arch. Looked cool though

The Gasket replacement went without a hitch and just as you said Sparkyhecat. The gasket was shown to be blown out in two places one of them just where you said. Thanks for the advice.

Regarding wheels: Can't make up my mind whether to go for larger wheels (Diablo) or the factory 'wheels and brakes' deal which sounds tempting, but the wheels are only 16".

AIUI there's a knock-on effect of bigger wheels: greater strains put on steering and suspension components as the loads that used to be soaked up by tyre sidewalls isn't. Instead, it's transferred to the metal bits. Could be costly...

Having twice been promised a ring back by the factory when I enquired about there wheel and brake upgrade I am now fed up waiting so: I have settled on 17" front and 18" rear Diablos.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
