helmet designs, do they stand out like before?

time was when you looked at a dark blue lid with "oars" on it, you knew at a glance it was DH, like wise for Senna big yellow one berger red and white bits (austrian flag)schumachers german flag under a blue and stared top,
but now apart from DCits hard to know whos who in a fleeting glimps, which is often all you get.
are there no designers out there who can come up with distinct designs or doesn't it matter enough anymore

Hamilton's, Massa's and Ralf's are easy to spot for me because of the use of yellow on them so then it's easy to spot them or their team mates. I find Sato and Davidson hardest to spot from a distance as they are both red/white. Another easy one is Kubica, big blob of redish, pinkish colour in a white car when Heidfelds helmet is white.
But then I think this is why the team mates use different coloured camera pods on them. I remember back in the 90's Ferrari they used to put dayglow yellow squares on the front wings of the number 2 car.

Davidson's design is cool but with the high sides of current F1 cars it's difficult to spot. Yeah these days with those high sides it's only really the bright colours that can be seen.
And why do motorcycle racers all have such pony designs (apart from Rossi and that Kagiyama chap who did Brit Superbikes a couple of years back). They tend to look like someone vomited on them - and at 150 mph all vomit looks alike.

Michael Rutter uses a red helmet with a white stripe, similar to Kagayama's blue and 2 stripe helmet, so does Tommy Hill. Very noticable. James Toseland uses a very nice classic style as well, a very smart design.Toseland's lid.
Wurz lid is hideous, I always get kimi and fonsos muddled up. Buttons is quite a clever design too. Has Ralf always had the same basic design as his brother with just the colour changed? Why dont itv cover cool stuff like this? Its very important for us f1 geeks
