Door not locking

The central locking no longer unlocks my passenger door on my car. It is only possible to unlock it from the inside. Can anyone tell me the most common cause for the solonoid to stop working? Any advice much appreciated. F&C
Hi Mate take a look in the panel to the right of where the door shuts.(Behind the carpet on the door pillar towards the rear of the car )
this could be a result of the screw falling out, one of two that secures the solenoid in position so when activated will not do as intended.

Thanks mate. I'll check it out tomorrow. There doesn't seem to be any noise at all coming from the solonoid, that makes me suspect a bad connection, or maybe a problem with the courtesy light switch that the central locking relies on to work. This is hooning weather
so I hope it doesn't take to long! Craig

Let us know how you get on Craig
Took it all to bits this morning. The solonoid was stuck. Managed to free it off and sprayed greese into it. it seems fine now. But I think I'll get another one to replace it with if it goes again.

Hi Dave. I checked out the Griff pages alternative parts list. Vauxhall Cavalier or Maplins (£9) Sounds like a bargain!fastandcurious said:

Thanks for the vote of support. Tooth is getting better (never did stop me from talking!). Went for a short hoon in the Griff with Craig at the weekend, as it would have been rude not to with the weather the way it was. Not too bothered about actually driving the beasty as I'm quite happy hooning in my M3.
