I have the opportunity to buy a nearly new Mini Cooper at the trade price.

It's a very nice, well specc'd example, but crucially it doesn't have Heated Seats, and my wife is not interested in any car that doesn't have them.

So, anyone know if they can be retro-fitted?

I would prefer original equipment, rather than 'after-market', and I accept that it will cost more than the original option price.

I looked into this recently as we bought a Cooper S with heated seats but half leather (Chilli pack?) I enquired about the cost of recovering the seats with full leather with the dealership, they told me they couldn't help at which point I contacted a respected independent trimmer who told me that later Cooper's 04 onwards were fitted with seat covers that were glued to the seats and were therefore impossible to recover or obviously retro fit heated seat pads I would presume...

I don't know if this is correct but he seemed to know what he was talking about.

OK - Heated Seats are now an after-market option. See Page 24 of the 2007 Accessory Brochure but price is TBC.

However, after a couple of enquiries, parts are about £240.

But, I had two different prices from two local Mini dealers to fit. One quoted £450 and one quoted £950eek

Oh, and apparently the kit isn't available yet, still awaiting release.
