Having thought I had Champion RN9YC speak plugs in my car I went and bought some new ones. Having just pulled a plug out it is a NGK BP6ES !!

Are these a straight swap ?? Whats the difference ??!!

Is there a website that you can compare them ??

No idea. However, most of the experts seem to have settled on NGK B7ECS (@0.9mm) as the preferred plug. The 6 that you have in at the moment will be slightly hotter which might help keep the plugs clean if the car spends a lot of time in traffic.

I'm glad someone else said thatthumbup.I've been using the BP7ES in mine for ages now,and they work a treat.I just cant see why TVR are the only RV8 users (i think)that seem to recommend those expensive B7ECS typeconfused. All the RV8 experts i've used recommend the more std type nose plugs.

The ECS variant's electrode is supposed to be more resistant to knock/detonation damage which I guess might be more likely in the average TIV. I'd happily use the more common ES, having used them for years in my big air coooled Kawa bike engines and never had a failure, even with silly compression/ign advance...they were 9s though! smile
