I put this site together to help stop the stem of what tyre topics, it just needs to become popular before it's of any use!

I've been begging for something like that. As soon as I have something useful to contribute I'll be there.

Nice site Jon
While i was at the Growl some of the guys were going on about a tyre that i think was made by Toyo and called 888 was i dreaming
These tyres seem to be for track and road and looked like they had hardly any tread on them
Any further info would be much appreciated like road handling and grip etc.

Thanks LG, now if only the site database would fill up it will be an awesome resource. I can add all sorts of bells and whistles for access once the data is there.
Pasco, not sure if that comment was in jest or not? http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Toyo/R888.htm just in case not. I'd not want them on a primary car during a British winter, they aquaplane rather badly but apart from that they're as good as everyone makes out!

As I understand the Toyo 888 are essentially a road legal track tyre which are excellent in the dry, Ok in the damp/a bit wet, and very interesting if very wet.
Not a daily use tyre, but OK if you're a dry hooner.

& You've been out on them Not a daily use tyre, but OK if you're a dry hooner.

I thought someone with 2000+ posts on pistonheads would have come across the ubiquitous R888 before!
Most of my time has been spent on Engine and Brake mods
I am now moving to suspension and tyres for next years projects so not paid much attention to tyres until now Jon.
They were on Del's Motor i think

The flip side fo that being - Dunlop SP9000's, Very Good in the Dry (wear rate a tad high in mine!), but Mega in the Wet and I mean Pissing down - you can really feel the grip and play with them, do this with a 888 or Yoko 32 / 48 and you will be off unless they are absolutely brand new. Treads wear Very fast on these. Not a daily use tyre, but OK if you're a dry hooner.
