Did anyone else think that they moved Leon Camier a bit quick after his off. Especially as it now seems that he has back injuries. A real 'cringer' to watch though. I know he was in a dangerous position but I would've expected red flags for that one.

Having had my foot almost in my pocket after a trials crash, the pain he must've been going through when they moved him would have been incredible- I wasn't moved until I was on gas and air and even then it was a bit sore!

Hope he gets better quickly, he was pretty impressive upto that point I thought.

It was sickening to watch frown . You know it's a bad one whe the commentary team make comments along the lines of 'i don't think we really want/need to see that again'.

Here's hoping for a quick & full recovery.

As a once recipient of a broken femur I wish him luck, for the eighteen months ahead.

It's going to be brutal. And I hope he does well.

That long to recover? Jesus.

Although i heard/read something recently about the amount of force required to break a femur and it was immense. Stronger than steel, i seem to recall?

So mebbe that recovery period isn't so unbelieveable after all.

The NHS surgeon who fixed it the night I broke it fvkced up. It stayed broken for nine months. It hurt. A lot.

Cadwell is a great circuit but I really do think it's just not up to standard for BSB.

And Knockhill is?

How boring would the BSB series be if it was made up of 12 Silverstone type circuits?

I hope Leon makes a speedy recovery

It was a sickening crash, I saw it once on replay and didn't want to see it again. Its not the femur that will be the problem, its the dislocated knee.

I've snapped my femur (a relatively clean break) screwing up a landing when I was downhilling. They just put a pin through the bone and you are up and walking within a week/10 days iirc

My problem was I was back racing quite soon but shortly after getting back into it I hit a tree and snapped my patella (kneecap) in the same leg. That knackered me up big time and my quad has still not recovered as it hurts to train. That accident was my cue to give up any racing ambitions I had hehe

I hope he recovers well.

It isn't either and I can say the same about Mallory Park too but this thread is about Cadwell.

Terrible injury for young Leon...I noticed his lower legs ended up crossed as he tumbled which perhaps was the cause of the injury problem..as for Cadwell park safety, everyone knows how to ride the mountain...it`s the pressure to push during the race when jumping the mountain that perhaps causes the raceday incidents...instant safety car or red flag, if needed, for similar highsides there in the future would do for me...riders are blind on the approach & it`s lucky there has been no piles up on the other side.

Pal of mine was there-he says about 20 yds from Camier's accident & apparently LC was in agony. Not surprising when you saw the slow-mo replay on ITV. Yuk-not something to see too often. Wish LC a good recovery.
As far as Cadwell goes, it IS one of the riders AND the fans favourite circuits. It's pretty much unique.
Shane Byrne has apparently said he only goes because of the Mountain section- & he had similar moment to Leon !
Give me circuits like Cadwell, Knockhill, Brands, Oulton, Mallory & even Donington any day to Silverstone.

You don't want to see it. I'd got a tear in my eye during the replays and really felt for the lad. A horrible horrible crash.

Broke my right Femur five years ago ( open fracture, lost four pints of blood ).
I would agree that the race should have been stopped. I was at the roadside for 20 mins whilst they gave me pain relief an put a splint on. Still hurt like hell when they lifted me onto a stretcher.
Top surgeon, four hour op that night to have a 'nail' inserted and on my feet 48 hours later.
Off work five months but fully recovered when I went back.

I felt physically sick whilst watching the slow motion replay of the crash. It looked like a terrible, terrible injury.

I hope he gets better soon, but that looked like an injury that could take a long time to heal. Poor chap.

It was interesting to hear James Toseland saying that they shouldn't race bikes as powerful as Superbikes at Cadwell. If he thinks its dangerous, then that's good enough for me. He knows a lot more about it than all of us sitting behind our keyboards.
