How do you change a username?

I was just wondering if it was possible to change your username?Nothing sinister in it-my username is the same as my old car reg number and now I have a new reg number my username does not seem appropriate.

go into "my profile"
under "login name" change it
scroll down click "update"

you may need to log out and log back in
