I am installing an 89 Hotwire V8 in my Tasmin over here in the US. Since this is an engine swap I have no idea where all the air and vaccuum hoses connect to. Can one of my TVR brethren send me a diagram or point me to where I can get one quick?

Thanks,

dwgriffith

You can download a copy of the range rover manual from here, http://www.landrover.ee/est/varia/downloads/cars.h... it should contain most of the info you need.

I could get a piccy of mine? Its home at the moment. Plenum area you need a picture of I think? Not saying it will match your mind.

Near side rocker cover has a vent at the rear, filler at the front. Offside rocker cover has a flame trap at the front, hose comes across the front to level with the throttle assembly, small diameter breather hose teed off and goes to the plenum, large diameter breather curves around and connects into the throttle housing just upstream of the throttle plate. On the rear of the throttle housing there's a similar looking hose which goes round the *rear* of the plenum to the stepper motor housing; this is the bypass used for idle control.

It's a flapper not a hot wire, but a lot is the same. and you should be able to see where most things go. its a start anyway.

Nice engine. whats. the thingie that had replaced the swap neck.

Also have you got any wider shots that show your full cooling piping.

one other thing, where did you get your brack hoses from the master cyclinder from

Any Idea of cost.

As may be worth me running one fan from there, and the other via the otter.

On my car during a service TVR welded up the hole in the end of the rad and put a screw in "vtrfc" from the Griffith into the swan neck pipe. John Ravenscoft said that it was best to measure the engine temp as near to the engine as possible.

I have a griff Ali rad with twin spal 2400 M3Hr fans, with a griff otter switch on the front of the rad. I will use this to drive 1 fan. just wanted a seperate system to drive the other, as 1 fan should be enough, 2 will just make it cooler quicker. also with 2 systems, it will be hard for them both to fail.

Mine was about £50.

I thought you had decided to buy the modwise fan controller stuff.. that sounded pretty good but I'm happy having 2 systems .. if one fails ..

Not decided yet.

The modwise seemed a bit expensive. and allready spent way too much.

Right. All tea and cream sconed up. The swan neck on mine takes a different route for starters as its a Range Rover block. All the ancillaries are the other way around. Had to send a fag packet drawing to ACT for a nice stainless to fit correctly. Superb job as well but it also meant I had a tad more to play with to fit the controller in line.

Piping, which area. Can take more.

Brake hosing was done by Peninsular under a previous owner. I understand it is standard stuff but the servo sizes took a bit of head scratching. Probably why I don't think my brakes are too bad. They are the same at the brake calipers.
