O/T, what do you use to get your rims staying so shiney? Mine are getting a bit dull bit i dont want to cut back the lacquer as i think its a bit thin...

I had them polished to the bare metal.

They look lovely (had comments about how bling they looked on track)

But, you will need to be very anal (almost AMG Merc-like) about keeping them clean. I took a load of paper towel and wiped round the rims after each track session. (only did 5 x 15 mins sessions anyway as I don't like to hammer the car) Then when I get home, I wipe them again then wipe over them with silicone spray.

I'm having a 2nd set of wheels refurbed atm and they will become my track set once back.

I know I must be being thick , but why are there two cars with the same plate in the first photo ? Do you have two , or was someone trying to take credit for your driving expertise by putting your plate on their car ? ...confused of Blackburn

The car with the white window shade sticker is Greg's car, it would seem the photog photoshopped the plate on the the other car.

As for taking credit for Greg's driving My mum drives faster!

Greg, I notice that the red Elise following you into the first section of the track is still behind you in the photo going into the new section. I guess it must have had a Honda engine?

I hate to admit it but the rear lights have really grown on me too. Still prefer the american ones out of all of them, but with the blue coloured car they look nice

Mr Harman, the red elise had a honda engine, a turbo and a jet booster. You should also note that it is considerably further away in the 2nd photo as in the 1st.


I cloned out the other owners plate as he may not wish to be publicised on here. Couldn't work out how you make it swirly so I just clone stamped mine.

Guess some people will go to any length to get their plate fitted to a shiny freshly painted front clam.

It was a great to catch up again and to get out on the track for a bank holiday blast, also remind the Lotus owners (and Matt of course) of something to aspire to.....

I mean the cars and not the driving, well mine anyway.

Yeah you pulled at least 10m on what we have now all acknowledged was a 120bhp k series Elise Must be the lack of nitrons...
