My company bought a Samsung Laptop (actually UMPC but same difference) at the start of July. About 3 weeks ago the touchscreen started to fail, with a fairly large portion of the right hand side now AWOL. This makes it hugely difficult to scroll anything with the stylus, and also a number of other functions are now not possible (the virtual touch panel for Wifi on.off etc are in the dead zone). So working, but not working at all well.

This was bought from a reseller, using a credit card.

Samsung acknowledge the problem, but so far have just said "er, we are waiting for advice from Head Office". We need to get this sorted now as this is needed for work.

What to do ?

1) Go after the reseller under the Sale of Goods act
2) Go after the Credit Card company for a refund
3) Go after the manufacturer for failure to provide warranty under terms of the agreement
4) Just wait and see if they eventually repair

Ta.

1, 2 and 3 all sound good biggrin

I'd start with number 1, but it's worth pursuing all of them at the same time and seeing which one comes good first.
