I find myself strangely drawn towards this rather retro device!

Anyone know anything about them? Are they VW based?

yes

I think they are a great looking little car - different from all the "normal" kit suspects, original styling but one of the rarer well designed variety of kits!

As Davi says, one of the best original kit designs. I think only the original VW based kit car that's better is the Nova.

Agree, one of the best looking kitcars based on the Vw floorpan, the design is a mix between a Miura and Maserati Bora.

Nice little car

I was quite excited until I saw,

capacity: 1500cc

"Ah, so it is just a beetle in drag!"

Hmmm, maybe you could fit the miniature V6 from a mazda MX3 in one to give it an almost-V12 noise and a bit more go, then get rid of the 1930s suspension design and before you know it..... a gorgeous looking, quick, well mannered sports/GT.

I like these...one of the better 'classic' kit cars. If you can get over the VW Beetle base then this will be a nice car to own. Not sure what the owner expects to get for it though, states not to bother with buy it now offers of a couple of grand - not sure it will even reach that to be honest.

Take a look here

The yellow one is a very nicely sorted example. Very straight bodywork for a kit car of its time.

If you've been trying to google out info on this you'll have no luck as the advert is misspelt - it's actually an Avante (not i) - plenty of information about them on www.nova-international.netwink

  • edit* well there WAS - looks like the site died - Big shame.
