Just had a go at jacking the front end of my 2006 Sovereign diesel XJ with a (single) trolley jack. Trouble is the underside of the engine compartment is covered with a plastic shield and I cant see the appropriate crossmember.

In the end I used the two standard jacking points in the front end of each sill, but there must be an easier way.

What's the best way of doing this?

I expect the XJ is like the XK.

DON'T jack up with a single jack.
Only use the sill points

Thanks...I had a feeling that would be the case. Looks like I'll be buying another trolley jack then! This so I can jack both sills at the same time to raise the front uniformly
