Its started already and I only picked the car up at the weekend!

Just made my first order through Track Car Solutions. Now just sit back and wait for my new de-cat pipes, cooling chip set (i went for one in the end), and a new free flow air filter.

My car has been mapped previously by Austec to run with de-cat pipes. But the previous owner to me had them removed and standard cats put back in. Its already loud now, but should sound even better with the de-cat pipes fitted. Also breath a lot better and allow the re-map to run as intended.

Looking forward to next week now so I can get the car up in the air and swap the pipes over while I do the oil changes. Stick the new cooling chip in and swap the air filter over and I will be off.

Best way to learn a new car is get stuck in I reckon! Here goes...

I will post a series of pictures up when I do the jobs. May inspire a few others to get stuck in and do it yourself?

Cheers
Dave...

Joo, I have been trying to ring you but get no answer. I have answered your email with my mobile number. What you suggest should be sweet enough by me, but would like to talk it through first. Its all in the mail I sent.

I will remove my ECU tonight when I get in. Prepared for action then.

Cheers for now

If your car has a remapped ECU (you mentioned the Austec de-cat map) then replacing with the cooling chip will mean you have a standard ECU (with cooling mod) and you will lose the Austec mapping.

Probably to supply the exisitng chip so Joolz can retain the map but add the cooloing chip bit to his bespoke map.

lol

Seeing joolz still has the highest 4.5 peak power record on an MBE remap as well as the Emerald, I doubt there would be any need for him to peek into others maps... but if he does peek, see if you can see the ascii codes in there that convert to chars reading "wot da fock u doin in here!" hehe

hehehe, I'm sure joolz has got some sort of antivirus software on his laptop...! unless we're talking a highly adaptive mutant polyhybrid-virus that xor's itself into unused hi and lo bits... hmmm..... in that case only a sledge hammer will help! or an industrial laser, but be careful, they still aint found the all-spark, megatrons navigational stystem could be hooked up in that chip! hehe
