OK, where were you all?

Done 1250 miles round Ireland last week and did not see a single Tiv. Shame on you..

Just lots of tractors driven by old men with dogs on the back.

There are not that many.
The last time I have seen one in Ireland was in May,
when TVRCC-Belgium had their Ireland tour
with around 15 TVRs.

Aw for sure didn't we see ya coming and duck out o the way - us Irish don't like buffoons.

That Sean O'Noakes and Shamrock Shep don't half get about on that Massey Ferguson though.

I'll wait for Ireland or Funky to brief you all. At one of the last Tiv meets just after Christmas five turned up....but not one if a Tiv....LOL

There are a lot of Tivs arriving and they are getting a cult motoring following. Mainly cerbs and tuscans AFAIK....

Did you enjoy you trip BTW?

Weather was not bad. Beer SHITE. Some roads were gagging for cerb action, but alas I was in hire car. Managed a speeding ticket on return to airport. The nice PC said it was just a paper exercise and I should use it to light fires as they have no jurisdiction over cider swilling Essex Boys.

A bit of adjustment on leg pressuers was needed after going from a golf to a cerb. Reminds me of when I drove my missus car for the first time in a few weeks - as I use the cerb every day, I nearly ditched hers forgetting to turn the steering wheel 12 revolutions to go round a bound.

I prattle on... Did not relish going to Ireland but enjoyed it when I got there. Have some puchine (is that how you spell it?) I brought back from a kind local to ensure all memories are erased permanently.biggrin

I live in Dublin now and I've seen 2 tivs since I got here. They are here in small numbers, which is to be expected given that 'made in England' isn't exactly a good selling point. Moreover I think there are more Beemers here per head than anywhere else in europe. I've never seen more M6's anywhere else that's for sure.

So it's a gerry car fest. Just like home then.

You really have a cheek berating the Irish for not driving round in their TVRs when YOU left yours at home and drove round in a hired VW Golf - you car choice was nearly as bad as your opinion on our BEER.

What parts did you drive round then, not the North as we are all over the place.

If you were here on Monday then you would seen us at Kirkistown TVRCC Track Day.

See photo's in the Northern Ireland forum

I was in Ireland for two weeks but not in the Tiv - family holiday!- horrible weather, but those N roads ( where slower traffic moves onto the hard shoulder to let you pass!)and some of the other twisty ones were great

Thinking of taking the Tiv now but didn't see too many super unleaded pumps around. I was in the so called sunny South East - should i be looking for a particular garage chain?? any advice welcomed please

BTW. ordinary unleaded v.cheap and the stout went down a treatdrink

Me neither, no real knowledge re additives and stuff - but guess there are volumes written elsewhere - either here on PH or on TVRCC forum - might have a look into it before a trip over.

BTW where are you based - wouldn't mind looking at your Sag (just looked up your profile) over a beer if practical on next tripsmile

smile Cheers Funky - will do, know Waterford a bit too. Cappoquin to Caher driving over the Vee is awesome - great veiws.

A few years back, had my brother following me -New Ross to Waterford en route to Tramore. They had just finished the road I think - drivinggreat surface. I woke up a sleepy garda who pointed his hairdryer at my bro furiouswho got a pull . rolleyes lol.

You've got some great roads over there and amazing scenery

Unsure when I'll be over next - might be for a few days over New Year but probably won't trouble you then as I'll fly to Dublin and will only have a Ka or similar from the hire boys!

Only unleaded available down South but works out at under 80 pence a litre. I add Millers VSP Octane Booster at about 4 pounds to treat 40 litres, therefore brings the cost per litre up to about 90 pence - still cheaper than UK prices.
