I picked up a Sony DSC-W55 for my mum a month or so ago as she had been wanting to get herself a compact camera to take with her on nights out and walks in the country with friends etc.

I had a play with several of the options out here in Germany and liked the way that the sony gave a brief description of each option on screen for each stop on the rotary dial when it was selected. As in what the setting is best used for and why. It meant I wouldn't get calls at all hours asking what to set it to as she could see quickly for herself.

And my old dear didn't know how to turn on a PC until last August, she has managed to use the camera several times now including downloading to her pc and emailing them over to me, so I can safely say that the W55 is a great wee bit of kit at a nice price and the ease of use appears high too if my mum can handle it wink

I'd take a Kodak Instamatic for mine.

We have just gone for a Sony W80, I think, next one up from the W55, our mate has a 55 and he says a great bit of kit, have not used ours yet though as its a wedding present and we arent married yet frown
So can you wait 5 weeks for a review?
