M3 Brakes on Non m3 (e46)

I have been thinking of upgrading the brake setup on my Alpina B3 (same setup as a 328i). I can pick up calipers, discs and pads from a e46 m3 at reasonable costs. Would it be possible to fit these on my car and what additional parts would i need? any indicative costs of the extra parts would be great.

The M cars have been receiving a lot of bad press regarding their brakes. Maybe an aftermarket Brembo kit would be best?

And from what I've heard it's not an easy fit either.

Why not an AP setup - thats the bees knees...

Is it not something that good pads/discs and braided hoses/quality oil won't fix?

Would love a AP setup just dont have the pennies for that. Anyway i dont need a full on track spec brake setup but just need to improve the braking of and the spongy pedal feel

I've a 328 and thought the standard items were really poor, I changed to Redstuff pads with the regular discs and there was a noticeable improvement. When I need to replace the discs I'll probably go for Black Diamond discs

Another alternative is to upgrade to 330 discs, 325mm instead of 300mm.
