She needs convincing? Seriously? I don't know many people who wouldn't leave if they could.

What is "furious driving"?

What is "furious driving"?

Leaving a petrol station and working out how much the fuel was and how much the tax was . Then hitting a pothole in the road and trashing a 100 quid rim.

So true.
My rims are £400 a pop, so I'd be even more furious....
Havoc, simply mention the wettest summer on record, oh, and the small matter of Britains youth arrogantly assuming ownership of the streets after dusk with no fear of recourse from plod.

Sorry to take this slightly O/T....would it not be overlooking the obvious to use the ever increasing number of unmarked cars in order to observe then nick some of the noisy, vandalistic, drunken scum simply by parking them in known hang-outs after dark ? Perhaps some of us would then get a quality nights sleep or even (imagine this) allow the wife to go to the local shop after dark.....and we're in a leafy Surrey village FFS......emigration ? Its not if, but when for most people I know. How sad.
Short, sharp shock tactics anyone ?

I've highlighted a very important word there.

Article in Sunday Times places deaths and serious injuries from firearms excluding air guns as higher, per year, than road KSI

Something like 3810 v 3670

Or perhaps due to the drivers attention of his surroundings being averted to the more pressing matters of the position of the needle, speed limit signs, scamera spotting, fear of unmarked BiB , avoiding potholes, street furniture etc etc.....

So...let me clarify something here for FJ:-

There are more DELIBERATE acts to try and kill people with a firearm than there are fatalities from ACCIDENTS on our roads (most of which aren't down to speeding, BTW!).

Moreover - people aren't afraid of cars/drivers (well, unless you frequent the M25, where I've seen some really scary stuff!!! wink) - people ARE afraid of criminals with guns!!!

Don't play into New Labours hands. The whole point of the mismanagement of the country over the past 10 years has been to p1ss off largely Tory voting middle England to such an extent that they emigrate, and to replace them with immigrants on benefits who will be so grateful they will vote Labour. To make sure, they have also created an army of 1 million civil servants who depend on NL for their jobs and so will vote for them no matter what. On second thoughts, where did i put my passport .....

It is shit isn't it especially when you look at the document supposed to be the bible otherwise known as the Highway Code. Code being a very suitable adjective, for some of it might as well be in code such is the ambiguity of it. Also the discrepency in fines and differing thresholds for speeding is pretty unfair and a bit of a lottery. Surely all this should be black and white, right or wrong not something won or lost depending on how much you can afford to pay a lawyer

In the 'old'days when I wished to have a person prosecuted for causing death by dangerous driving one had to submit a comprehensive report to the DPP in London. If he OK'd it then it was run. I used to include the furious driving charge as well which seemed lesser proof was needed. He never gave the nod to it.
