Late last week, I started up the ST, and as I drove off I immediately noticed the exhaust note seemed deeper - more gruff. It's a pleasant growl, but I can't help thinking there's something up with the exhaust. Any ideas anyone? I'd expect a good exhaust system to last more than 3 years and 26,000 miles tongue out

I'd expect it to last longer than that too. It sounds like maybe the sound absorbing material inside has got displaced or something, but it *could* certanily be blowing. Sometimes the welds fracture if it wasn't fitted 100% correctly.

My puma sounds funny too, I started it up and it said "A man walks into a greengrocer's and says, I want five pounds of potatoes please. And the greengrocer says, we only sell kilos. So the man says, alright then, I'll have five pounds of kilos."

Thanks for the comments, sensible and comical alike. I'm going to leave it for now and perhaps get it on ramps if it gets any worse.

It's a 2004/53 plate. I do notice an inordinate amount of vapour coming from my exhaust sometimes. Hmmm...
