Cars in their natural environments
Discussion
Every car has it's specific environment, the one you'd think of first when you hear the name of that car. Say Lotus Elise and you think of twisty roads, a lot of green stuff around and the sun shining. Say Ferrari 550 and you think of a rather expensive street featuring boutiques and very very nice little cafès and bistros. Say Porsche and you think of the Autobahn or the Nürburgring.
Except for my 944. Did I hear somebody say it ain't a Porsche anyway? Never mind. What's for sure is that it has blended perfectly to the unimpressive german suburban scenery. It did surprisingly well, so that people obviously don't even notice it anymore. They walk around it without taking notice, they drive their car close to it without taking notice, and way too often they crash into it.
Three times in two months.
It's always the same. I'm at home at Saturday or Sunday, at some hour in the afternoon or early evening a neighbour calls or rings the bell. He has hit my car when reversing out of his garage or when trying to get into another empty space or when driving a lorry around for moving purposes. First they hit the rear, then my mirror went off, now that lorry scraped all the front from bumper to mid of the door.
I just don't get it. Not that I ever intended to park my vehicle at any dangerous spots, it's just everyday parking in usual spaces. Either god doesn't like that car or (more propable) some rather mean guy at the factory hid a large electromagnet somewhere in the engine bay.
At least I didn't total it myself, that's the positive aspect of all these adventures, except for the running costs that exceed a €100/month surplus by far as a result of one crash that wasn't repaired but already paid when that final impact happened (this Sunday).

Bad luck Chris.
It's small consolation, but in the UK you'd be lucky for people to own up to hitting your car!
I made a point of staring at some shitbag in a minicab the other day, who reversed straight into the car behind whilst getting out of a car parking space. (He had plenty of room as well.)
After he noticed me, I deliberately shook my head, and he stared back as if I'd offended HIM!
That is the attitude of some people. Very sad.
