I'm selling my 328 and thought I'd copy and share this email with you that I received today. They must think we're all retarded:

Hello,
How are you and your family ? hope everybody is fine at this time ?i saw the advert of your Car and i am intrested in buying .i wont be able to view the Car because i am presently working offshore in France . i am satisfied with the details on the advert which i believe its real .

Due to my condition of payment i will be convinient to pay £25,100.00 for the Car .i will contact my business associate in sending you a cheque of £3,900.00 to deposit in your bank account which will take 3-5 working days to clear.

you will now deduct £1,000.00 for payment in advance for the Car which is non-refundable and send the remaining £2,900.00 to shipping agent for getting all the necessary document for the Car ready before i will be in uk .Presently i am working France .the Car will be shipped to my wife that is working in singapore .

the last auto i bought , there was a delay for the shipping agent before it can pick the Car up deu to unavailabity of shipping document for the shippment that is why i want him to get everything ready before i will be in uk .i will pay you the remaining balance asap i get to uk . the remaining balance of £24,100.00 payed into your bank account before the Car can be pick up.it is when the full payment has cleared to you and confirmed before it can be picked up

You need not to worry as our prepaid shipping Agent will come to pick the Car up from your base for shippment to 358 Alexandra Road Singapore 159964.the reason for this shippment method is as a result of the conjestion of the singapore seaport, which does not make it directly shippable there.

I will compensating you with £130 pounds for the time involve in paying the shipping agent and also want you to withdrawl the advert.

confirm this and provide name, address and Mobile phone number for cheque payment to be delivered to you via courierI look forward to a successful transaction with you and await your urgent response.

call me if you have anything to discuss on............07024087921,07972087673

Regard
Peter

It did at least make me smile at the end of the week.

are you tempted to call the number and tell him what a little censored he is?

I'd never trust anyone with a mobile phone number that long.

Give an address of a friend to send the cheque to and see if it turns up. If it does bank it and disappear. Play them at there own game. £3900 better off
and no risk.

I have just received an identical email relating to the sale of my Lotus. I was a bit suspicious hence having a look on here to see if anyone else had received anything similar. Will definitely avoid dealing with this guy, but just out of interest how does this scam work, since according to his email all the money is sent to me by banker's draft and nothing happens until the cheques have cleared. Sorry if i am being a dumb blonde here but would like to know what to watch out for if i get any other emails like this!!!
