OK, I know it's in the Sun, but it sounds a bit 'careless' at the very least? http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007400561,00.html

Someone is about to get rather a bollocking and, far more importantly, weeks of ribbing and ridicule in the Parade Room.

A lad on my shift put a car in a ditch a couple of months ago, he's still feeling the pain. From the rest of us...

Character building boss. Honest.

Whilst I share your view on this I can't help but wonder what the BiB's reaction (especially certain ones on here) would be if this were a MoP planting their car in someone's garden......

In my force all Polacs must me attended by a supervisor and if injury has been reported then the accident investigators will attend.

I have known a number of officers be taken to court as a result of Polacs.

It my not be the same in all forces but up here we are looked at with the upmost scrutiny by the Professional Standards Department should we crash.

We also have a seperate 'police licence' which, should there not be enough evidence to take an officer to court, will get points on it.

Get 12 and you loose your permit. I've got three for reversing into a lamp post on mine... plonker.

It would depend on whose fault it was. The article states the police vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle. I would wait for all the facts to come in before I made a decision about culpability.

I did take a while to live down. We'd got a saloon whilst the estate was in for repair and I misjudged where the boot ended.

What was a worse punishment was that I had to make the tea for a month!

Clearly driving far too fast in a residential area. Must admit i am surprised this could happen to a driver who's training makes him infallible, even at high speed. Never mind, as you BiBs say, will induce some mirth down the station, although i wonder if you would find it so funny should a MoP do the same?
Don't forget, as you hide behind bushes to teach us ... SPEED KILLS wink

Well actually, down my nick, we find it extremely funny when anyone, BiB or public, plants their vehicle in a similarly ludicrous manner, provided no-one is hurt or loses a bollock.

I still think Derbyshire's Aquaplod take some beating. This bunch make the Keystone Cops look like polished professionals.

I'm sure Peugeot's marketing execs could use this video in the next generation 407 ads.

"All this time you played me for fool. But now I know what I have to do..."
