losing boost?

i have a 1996 wrx modded impreza which has around 300 bhp....however just recently it didnt seem as fast.....sounds daft as any impreza is rapid....but last night i realised wen i booted it at 6000 revs the acceleration sstops all together and stutters so to spk only 4 it to kick bk in again after a second???could this be because it is losing boost??

Firstly...please type proper english...makes it easier to understand the problem.

So are you saying the car cuts out for a second ? If so, sounds like it is overboosting, and hitting the safety boost cut.

Stick a boost gauge on, and you should be able to see what is going on very easily, then you can see if this is the problem, or if not.

Keep an eye on the boost gauge and see if it fluctuates when the power stutters

Could also be a fuel shortage and your ECU is trying to protect your engine.

i havn't actually got a boost gauge need to invest in 1 pronto though

sounds like fuel cut or overboost mate
