Hi there,

Donington is my local track and I spend quite a bit of time there with the camera.

If you do not have a media pass and will be shooting from the public side of the fence then I would advise these three locations which can all be accessed by heading to the infield either by car from the top part of the circuit near the Donington Collection or on foot using the tunnel from the pits/paddock area.

(please click on images to resize them as Pistonheads automatically squashes them)

1) on the inside of Redgate corner, you can actually get quite close to the track here and the fence is only knee high so won't get in your way.

2) Head downhill from Redgate towards the Craner Curves and once you have passed the hospitality suites you should be able to get a shot like this one.

3) Finally head up the path past the Spitfire and make your way back down the infield to the large Spark Plug commentary booth. If you stand to the right of the bridge you should be able to get some shots of the cars as the come out under the bridge.

Lastly try to get into the grandstand just next to the pits and you can get some shots of the cars as the head for the start/finish line

Heres a rough map with stars in the approximate locations I use

Donington is quite a hard track for getting shots of cars coming through corners as most of the areas are fenced off and aren't suitable for taking pictures.

Hope you have a great day and look forward to seeing the pics.

Regards

Tim

Cheers for that Tim.Will post anything of significance.Love Donny as a circuit to drive, but not been there with a view to taking pics.

Program for tomorrow is Elise trophy x2, Formula Audi Palmer x2, historic touring cars and 2 others I forget.

Agree about the inside of Redgate corner. I've had some corkers from there. We were at Donny the other week and you can't get anywhere near the hairpin/chicanes now due to the building/digging work for the new motocross track.

Hope you have a good day smile
