Hi Chaps,

This may be a repost but just in-case, was travelling up the 'New' A130 from Sadlers Farm Roundabout North towards Chelmsford.

Atleast 2 new fixed speed cameras have just been installed before you get to the Woodham Ferrers / Wickford turnoff..

Purely for information purposes of course i thought i'd let u know!

It's just for roadworks (at least I hope so) and there will be a temporary 40 limit.

Must say it's a great road after the Wickford junction going to Chelmsford. driving

Essex plod must've done a deal with VAG, they also have an unmarked burgandy Octavia estate doing the rounds.

  • notes made to watch for skodas*
never understood why they need bigger cars really, the boot on the skodas never looks full when you see them open & a vrs isnt exactly slow.

EDIT: considering the discounts we've been told plod get on here, a skoda must cost at least £3k new?

Ah, when they were building this road I saw the fixed cameras on there, I guess those tarmac lorries were speeding....

And as said, a nice long straight bit of road, no idea why they want to sit in a lay-by with a hairdryer.....

Indeed, I always had some difficulty reconciling the policy of siting cameras only at accident blackspots with the fact that there were cameras on the a130 from the day it was opened. Maybe 'accident blackspots' were part of the design brief?

cause they've changed the law & can put cameras anywhere now. obviously people slow down in dangerous places & the scamera partnershits dont make enough cash.

The a130 opened long before the law changed and the cameras were there at the start.

When did the law change? This road has only been open a few years.
