Well Ive done it - finally bought a "sorted" speed six today - cooper green with full leather - pick up next week end - the question is sports exhuast or not????

4.5 Cerb with sports exhaust - personally, I love it. Louder everything, overtones and bangs if that's what u are looking for.

a sports exhaust is a must , take off that lorry silencer and chuck it, get de cat pipes and sports exhaust.....mines from penninsula and very pleased with the results...still havent seen any flames though but pops and bangs brilliantly on the over run.

Hey join the club - just bought a 4.5 - been driving a jag for the last few years it bloody great to be really driving again. oh by the way how hot is hot? the temp reads 90 degrees but in traffic it climbs to 102 degrees. it never gets any hotter but i'd rather ensure that the temp didn't do any damage to the engine.

cerb 4.5 - I also drive a 4.5 cerby and 80 - 90 degrees on motorway is usual and above 100 in traffic is common. I read a thread some time ago and this was discussed as normal for the engine and no damage will occur. It's the oil you need to keep your eye on!!!

What should the oil pressure be? it has not moved from just to the right of verticle.
Also tail pipe fell off yesterday when I gave the car a bit of a heavey right foot session. Showing a pair of heals to one of the I may not have as fast as car as you but I'm a better driver types that decide to stick 2 inches behind ya chuff. Is it a case of just sticking it back in and welding around where it meets the box or am I into a new baox and tail pipes?

Not the oil pressure the level on the dipstick!! Generally the guage sits at 50 ish, lower when v hot and higher when cold.

I've just purchased a Cerbera 4.5 at the age of 23, the car has only done 11k and is proving the best toy i've ever bought, the power is crasy! However, does anyone notice they seem to be a bit jerky at low speeds when the revs are around 2k-they seem to grumble and want to go faster!! Apart from that and checking for M3's and Impreza's that have been sucked into the airfilter no problems-touch wood!!

Mine used to do this then I did a few track days, seems to be (I could be imagining it but don't think so) that a day at the track results in about 3 months of smoother running.

Alastair's - I have posted this on ano thread but I was told the engine management system is very intelligent so if you drive like an old woman it keeps the engine in old woman mode and if you drive like Russ Hughes (!!!) then it will keep the engine in race tuscan condition. As you can see I'm not technical I just enjoy driving my 4.5.

I have been told that if you find your nearest straight, safe and quiet road then accelerate to top revs in 2nd and third and keep going til you bottle it then the engine management system thinks its at the race track and will compensate!

I have done it and I think it works. I do a lot of motorway miles so mine gets the old woman syndrome quite a lot so I have great fun at weekends getting it back into shape.

Try it in yours and let us know...

We have the 4.2 Cerbera with sports exhaust and it does the same. Does yours? Interested to know if it would run any better if we fitted the standard exhaust?

Just bought a 4.5 Cerbera with a standard exhaust on, and would like to know if anyone knows of somewhere in this area that I could purchase a sports exhaust? I live in buckinghamshire and would be grateful for any help !

David Batty did my sports exhaust and its the business!! Cost about £400.00 + vat - stainless steel looks fantastic and sounds wonderful. All those pops and bangs on overrun!! He He He...
