A701 south of Edinburgh

Just been on a road trip from Wales to Edinburgh and have to congratulate the Scots for the A701, a great road, almost as good as some of ours in Wales. Bend after bend that, in a half decent chuckable car you can take at 60 all the way to Edinburgh a must if your ever visiting and traveling from the South.

it certainly is recently did a few days in the fife area and did it both ways from the m6 to edinburgh and back

i'm sure you must have touched the upper side of 60 ish those cross views!!

I love this road so much. I live right at the start of the good bits and its a great 60 mile trip to Moffat and back.

Thing i love the most is that its almost always deserted(your unlucky if you meet more then one car) and that its great fun to drive without going excessively fast. Sadly the nights are closing in so the best times to take a trip are always in the dark which isn't as fun as the scenery is incredible. Just be prepared to wash your car after doing it every night for a few days, so many dead insects .

The dodgy fake speed camera gets a laugh as I always forget its there and brick myself.

I met a couple of very slow moving cars and the good thing was they were all on very open streaches so I didn't have to lift off just straight past, it was great.
