Red Hot Sagaris !!!!
Discussion
Cars been like this for a while but never seemed to get round to sorting things out.
But just been on a 4 1/2 hr drive to the lakes and the drivers side footwell air vent is passing hot air. Thought my feet were gonna melt.
Tried to remove the vent in the services but found it attached to some sort of tensioned wire.
Anyone know how to remove as the slats on the vent need sorting as they wont lie flush and let hot air into the footwell constantly

I don't think it is ment to be hot air that comes through the windscreen vents but when the engine is hot it raises the ambient air temperature. The ventillation is generally a poor design and I found a gap between duct pipes under my dash of about 20mm that was allowing the air conditioned air to spill out before reaching my drivers side dash vent. I bridged the gap with baking foil. On my car, I find it best to shut the vents on the dash top if I am trying to cool the car.

Is it normal that hot air is blowing constantly through this route (and my dashtop vents for that matter)?
Wayne,You should only get air through the dash top vents when cold is selcted.
Your heating system needs setting up.

it seems to me that it is only fixable if you have time to rip out the interior and start again.
(also get the hot air though the dash vents as well)

No it can be re-set by changing the parameters of the air & heat menu as VARLEYVHD says - you can access it yourself via the wheel-mounted button controls. it seems to me that it is only fixable if you have time to rip out the interior and start again.
