I had this too. window would wobble around and eventually refused to go up unless being held in position. As I dont have the hands of a small child I decided to let the garage have a go instead. Turns out the internals were (in their words) in pieces. All sorted now, it actually goes up quite fast now. I believe its quite a difficult job to do due to space and access.

Not much help am I ..... scratchchin

Hi Meatball, mine did the same at the beginning of this year. Removed door panel and the rear window guide only to find that the trim had fallen out of the guide. Cleaned it all applied a small amount of glue and replaced the trim. While I had gone this far, leaving the front guide in place, removed the trim and again applied a small amount of glue and re fitted.

Also while in the internals of the door I, following on from another thread, applied loads of lubricant to the runner in which the cable that operates the window runs.

Once done all back together apart from the door trim. Try the door with the glass fully up as you may need to check the alignment at for the rear edge of the window. When happy tighten all the bolts, re fit the door trim and make sure you re connect your speaker cables.

I have the same problem. I think what has happened is that part of the winder mountings have dropped off and will be in the bottom of your door (I know this as I heard mine fall off). You are correct that it is an awkward thing to fix - have not sorted mine either. The effect is that the back edge of the window is a little low when wound up and it can scrape a little when going up and down. A good one for the garage unless you have small hands and time I think.

I'd recommend a copy of the Steve Heath Bible. If you are not a member of the TVR club I believe you can still call the club office and order. Here is the link; http://www.shpub.co.uk/tvrbooks/order_form.html. I think you have to take the speaker out and then undo some screws or bolts inside the door. Anyway Steves book tells you how.
