Hi all..

I have recently bought a saxo vts on 97 plate. On the drivers side, the wheel has only 3 nuts holding the alloy on as someone has snapped the thread of the nut inside one of the holes in the hub.

I have tried to drill it out and used spacers with no sucess. Does anyone know if there is anything else I can try? Does anyone also know if the hub can be detached from the strut or is it completely fixed, as I might just be able to buy a new hub.

Help! Alan :-)

I take it your on about the drive flange?

Once you have taken the whole strut out and removed the driveshaft from the hub assembly the drive flange should just press out from the bearing. You are likely to destroy the bearing though so that would need replacing aswell.

Happened to me a while ago on my 106GTi, tried all I could to get it out to no avail. New hub and bearing cost 85+vat in parts, total bill with it all fitted was £261.
