Going to a corporate event this month at Goodwood, need to choose 2 cars to drive out of this classic lot (nothing less than 15yr old save maybe the Diablo):
ASTON MARTIN DB4
FERRARI 355
PORSCHE 911 RS
AC COBRA
E-TYPE JAGUAR
LAMBORGHINI DIABLO
CHEVROLET CORVETTE C5

Which and why, answers on a postcard! I have a 997S by the way.

Hard choice, but possibly the RS to compare with your 997 - and i'd not bother with the DB4 or E-Type as they're GTs rather than sports cars. Just got to pick one from the other 4 now - I've made it almost half as hard for you.

Would have to be the Diablo and Cobra for me.

DB4 would also be appealing.

911 and 355 i think for me but you will likely be max 4000rpm anyway so they might as well all be GTs

still fun and something to look back on when electric cars take over and the kids laugh at us petrol heads

I will talk with you about it on our track day next week at Silverstone.

But defo the 911 and for the second either the C5, Cobra or Diablo. I think I would take the Cobra, but then again the C5 is cool!

I did this at Goodwood in the yellow Diablo, little disappointing as you only get 3 laps and your told to keep in 4th gear all the way round, though did manage to overtake a single seater at the end of Lavant at 110 mph in the wet. As you can imagine three laps are very soon over.

Hi John...hope the 997S is going well. You have to try the 911RS to see what the fuss is about. I'd follow up with the Diablo. They appear to be the opposite of ergonomic and a throwback to the undriveable supercar era. The Corvette is an unknown to me but if that Sean whatsisname suggests it then why not ? I've had to drop out of 2 Castle Coombes and a Goodwood in last 2 months so a bit pissed off but hope to see you around next year. Cheers John L
