Hi

Just sharing some interesting information.

Happen to know someone that bought a "private plate" and didn't actually get around to registering to their car for about 6 months.

Even though they were stopped by plod several times - the story given that the DVLA had buggered up the registration and it was being sorted always kept plod happy !

The car was insured with the new plate - although the road tax wasn't.

Apparently never had to pay a parking ticket or speeding fine or congestion charging !

Sounds like a perfect dodge to me.

Apparently they're changing their plate again soon !

I'd imagine all it would need is for somebody to actually check with the DVLA (rather than taking his word for it) to scupper this 'dodge'...

hi

the thing I always thought about was to just have foreign plates. Swedish maybe ?

All depends on what car you drive - a BMW 3 series is unlikley to pulled over but a 911 turbo tends to get more attention !

Sounds like deception or perverting the course of justice to me.

Sounds like taking the pi55, which will quickly get your neighbours who pay their fines and road tax on the phone to the local traffic base with the information about your scam. It happends all the time with people that dodge tax and other legal stuff on their cars.
